The Sounds of the Dolomites: Luciano Biondini and Rosario Giuliani. Tribute to Ennio Morricone. Col Bel (Ciampac-Buffaure), Thursday, September 14, 12 p.m.
Meeting point and time: at 9 a.m. at the summit station of the "Buffaure" cabin lift in Pozza.
Program: from Buffaure you will take the chairlift to "Col de Valcavin" and from there the path No. 613, which following an easy up and down on the ridges, leads to the summit of "Sass de Adam" and "Sela Brunéch", a wide grassy saddle overlooking "Ciampac". From here you will reach the opposite side of the valley, toward "Crepa Neigra", turning then in the direction of "Col Aut". Following a comfortable path through high pastures, you will reach the event site with little elevation gain. Return along the same route (descent on foot from "Col de Valvacin" to Buffaure and descent to the village by cabin lift).
Difficulty: medium-easy. Height difference in ascent (one-way): 219 m. Height difference in descent (one-way): 142 m. No refreshment points/fountains along the route.
Curiosities: the trail gives a 360-degrees panorama of the peaks of Val di Fassa, from Latemar to Catinaccio, from Sassolungo to Sella, from Pordoi to Marmolada. In the first stretch of the route, on the ridge, the view is divided between the Val San Nicolò to the south and the wild Val Jumela to the north. The area in very suggestive also for the variety of flowers, plants and rocks, with an immense minerals' treasure hidden in the mountains' bowels.
