Spend the night in a mountain refuge and, at dawn, experience life in the Val Jumela as a true herdsman. The reward? The most authentic breakfast of your life!
The sound of cowbells will be irresistible: you'll want to jump out of bed at 5.30 in the morning to find a pasture to gather the cattle, and you'll watch the first rays of sun with adoring eyes.

Friday, 28 August
- 4:30 pm: Meeting point at the cable car in Pozza to go up to Buffaure (2040 m)
- 4:50 pm: Once at the top, we admire the spectacular panorama and then backpacks on and off we go along the easy trail that leads us to the hut. Guided by our mountain guide, we will learn the names of the peaks – elevation gain: 115 m
- 5:30 pm: We arrive at the Rifugio Baita Cuz. Shoes and backpacks off, and we settle in for the night: everyone will sleep together! Those who wish can walk up to Col de Valvacin to admire the spectacular 360° panorama over the Dolomites of the Val di Fassa
- 7:30 pm: Dinner time! After this beautiful walk we’ll surely be hungry… Stefano and Lucia will satisfy both adults and children with typical dishes
- 9:00 pm: Everyone under the duvet – tomorrow the day starts early!
Saturday, 29 August
- 5:30 am: Wake-up call! It may feel a bit hard at the beginning, but how often do you get the chance to see the sunrise from up here?
- 6:00 am: On the terrace of the Rifugio Baita Cuz we enjoy the sunrise lighting up the Dolomite peaks. Then we set off towards Malga Jumela – elevation gain: 25 m, elevation loss: 318 m – where we meet Lucia
- 7:00 am: Divided into small groups, we will try the activities at the mountain farm first-hand: from milking the cows, to brushing the animals, collecting the eggs and accompanying the cows to the pastures8:00 am: After so much work comes the well-deserved break, with a delicious breakfast at the mountain farm: milk, fruit juices, elderflower syrup, jams, homemade cakes and traditional desserts, fritters, eggs, butter, cheese, speck and other cured meats, freshly baked bread (the one we prepared together)… and much more!
- Around 10:00 / 10:30 am: We put our backpacks back on and set off together with the Accompagnatore di Media Montagna for the return hike, with the possibility, before going back down to the valley, to reach the panoramic point Sas de Pere da Fech (2142 m) – elevation gain: 270 m
- Late morning: This is where #Atdawninamountaindairy comes to an end… now you can also allow yourself a little nap!
Mi è piaciuto il tipo di attività svolte, la visione dell'alba in quota, le spiegazioni e la disponibilità della guida alpina e le attività e la colazione in malga. Avrei preferito più coinvolgimento da parte degli organizzatori allo scopo di creare maggior aggregazione tra i componenti del gruppo.
Non ho avuto difficoltà a prenotare e neanche durante l'attività.
Consiglio l'esperienza in quanto ho visitato luoghi e strutture non conosciute a tutti.
